I find it hard to believe that the RNC has chosen NYC and MSG for their National Convention from August 30 thru September 2. Already GOP director of operations Mike Miller is threatening Marshall Law to sweep and lock down the area surrounding MSG. You would think that theses brazen bastards would consult Mayor Mike Bloomberg especially in light of what this city has been through in the last 3 years. Junior doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of carrying NYC or New York State for that matter. You would think that Junior and his gang of neocon, draft-dodging chickenhawks would stage their convention where they would be welcome?

Bush recently stated that rising anti-Americanism in Canada and Europe is evidence that the US's stance (on terror, on Iraq) is the correct one. So, by that bizarre heads-colliding-with-bricks logic, perhaps he feels that a slew of anti-Bush protesters will lead to an increase in favourable opinion of his administration.

If Bush were to lose in November, would he say the fact that Americans showed their anti-Bush stand proves he made all the right decisions?

Dems also were offered to have their convention in NYC and would only accept if the GOP did not.

Can't wait. Deja Vu. Bring it on.

Never thought I'd relive those days again. Hey kids go there and occupy Central Park...why not? Just avoid the clubs...no you guys don't understand...not those kind....the ones the "pigs" [police into giving stitches] carry. Its a lot of fun and the whole world is watching. Trust me. Just go. Just do it. Might just have to light one up for old time sake and just watch it on TV. This time its your turn and your fight. Carry On.

The best idea is the following, The Republican convention be held in New York knowing the fact that the state will not be won. While the Democrats hold their convention in Miami, Florida knowing the fact that they will not win the state in election 2004

Alex, if you really believe that, I understand there's a few Books that are offering odds on which party wins Florida.

I'm watching close to make sure nothing silly happens, but if the election was next month, I'd be all over the Democrats here.

Barman,

I say that my money is on Bush to win Florida. The main reason why I believe this is that Jeb Bush won re-election against Janet Reno. I think that part of the reason was for the cuban resentment of Janet Reno and her handling of Elian Gonzalez.

Nevertheless, Cuban American Citizens tend to be more on the Republican Side. Regarding Palm Beach, since there was a large population of Jewish Senior citizens they naturally would go Democrate. Nevertheless, Florida as a whole is more Republican than Democrate.

Come on Lander and Wil.

When a guy has 368 posts and at least 367 of them contain vehement comments towards other posters and/or gratuitous violent statements, is he ever worth responding to for any reason?

ALEX, I do believe you believe the Republicans can win Florida in 2004 Presidential race.

But your cited reasons are pretty much without any merit at all.

First, JEB! won reelection in a race against Tampa lawyer Bill McBride, not Janet Reno.

JEB! is one of only two Republican governors in Florida since just after the Civil War.

Both of our U.S. Senators are Democrat.

The breakdown for registered voters in Florida is 45% Democrat, 38% Republican, 17% Other

How you liking your chances now?

You think JEB! will be able to pull the hijinks he pulled in 2000 to fix the vote? Oh and I'm not talking about the 'final' vote recount, which showed Bush winning by 300 votes. I'm talking about how JEB! had then Secretary of State Katherine Harris manipulate the lists of Florida convicted felons. Analysis has demonstrated that at least 50,000 and up to 91,000 voters were improperly barred from voting. Over 50% were black or Hispanic, a demographic in Florida that votes Democrat between 75 and 90% of the time.

Let's look at all those who DID get their vote down in 2000.

You think very many who voted Gore will switch to Bush this time?

You think very many who voted Bush will switch to Democrat this time?

You think the 4% who voted Nader might switch? If so, will they go Repub or Democrat?

BOL if you choose to invest, whichever way.

Meanwhile, the Democrat convention will be held in Boston, and half the state is already in an uproar because the Major Northern artery, and North Station commuter rail and Public Transportatuion (The T) will all three be closed down while the convention is in session.

If you're smart, you take that week off, but a lot of people are having a hissy-fit about this, whether they have to find another way intoo work or take the week off.

Between the Democrat convention and the destruction of marriage in Massachusetts, the Republicans have an opportunity to become a player again - that is, if they can clean out the Brahmins and RINO's and get some real Republicans to run for office.

Actually no I'm not, thanks for asking. (Though I did score 46% on that online How Gay Are You survey that someone posted a couple weeks ago)

I must confess to being a flaming heterosexual.

Now, back to my question please.

You said that 'marriage has been destroyed in Massachusetts' and I'd just like an example of someone whose marriage was destroyed.

Just one. And then tell me why it was destroyed and we'll be done.

I'm simply curious about some of the pronouncements you make and I want to make sure I understand.
